A English drama group for young people (14+) and adults is coming up at the Schnürschuh Theatre pretty soon. The playhouse is looking for people interested in theatre work and perhaps also in brushing up their English. No special qualification or experience in stage performance are necessary. If you can read this and if you can imagine yourself following a theatre class conducted in English, you will be the right person to join in. The programme is going to start off with a period of theatre training followed by a casting for a stage production.
The course will be directed by Norbert Hunke, a teacher of drama and English who did some of his studies at the Theatre Arts Department of the University of Massachusetts (Boston) and also took part in a summer course with the San Francisco Mime Troupe several years ago.
For the last 12 years he has worked on English theatre productions with young people between 15 and 19 staging a performance each year. Among those stage presentations were English plays like Endgame by S. Beckett, The Pigman by P. Zindel and Wedekind‘s Spring Awakening.
The English theatre group meets at Jugendfreizeitheim Neustadt, Thedinghauser Str. 115b, 28201 Bremen every Monday 6.30 till 9.30 pm. A fee of EUR 15,- for all teenagers, students and unemployed / EUR 25,- for adults will be charged per month. The first two meetings will be free.
